Hootin' Roarin' Good Time

over at Two Adults and One Brown Baby (and her now big brother!) Two hats went to live with these cute kids:
 Ezra
and Iris!
Though I was informed by K in the most classic K wording that: "The picture of Iris should come with the caveat, though, regarding her fairly pissy looking face and that is that it was near bedtime when I shoved the precious owl on her melon. : )"

Now you know why I'm one of her loyal readers. I kid you not every time I read that I chuckle.

Happy hat wearing and thanks for sending pictures!

Just Jessica

Soooo now I'm married. The question has come up achem....as to whether or not Just Jessica is still an appropriate blog title.

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose

By any other name would smell as sweet."

Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

Back when I started my blog, the other bloggers I knew had family blogs. Mine was all mine. It was about me. Just me. Just Jessica.

Im married now. The kids at work have been calling me Mrs. N. They found out my whole new last name and we had a solid 5 minute conversation about it. Pronouncing all the syllables, then I had to write it on the board so they'd get all the sounds. Then a couple reverted to singing Nickelodeon theme songs. Nick nick nick nah nick nick nick ah loh de an.

Do we change to something clever tying in golf and crafting? Are we now Just Jessica and Luke since kids are a LONG ways in the future? How about Just Married Jessica? (Credit for the last two goes to commenters.)  Tell us what you think? Give us some suggestions? I think I'll put up a vote sometime next week once we've heard what ya'll have to say!

Julie/Julia/Jessica

"Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it." -Julia Child

Sometime around August a movie came out called Julie & Julia. It looked fascinating. A woman (Julie Powell) living in New York City decided to cook her way through Julia Childs' cook book Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
I was holding out on the movie with hopes to watch it with someone who might enjoy it just as much as I would. Before that happened I found myself browsing Target with Aunt Grace and Katie. Katie pointed to the book and said "Hey that's the movie you were talking about!" I had no idea it was a book! I snagged it and began to read. While I cant say the book was the best I've ever read, it was in fact interesting. Also, be forewarned she swears a lot.

Being a blogger myself I could relate to a lot of her blogging experiences. I also would like to adopt her term for her blog readers. She calls blog readers "bleaders." Don't think that I am assuming you are spouting the red stuff just from reading my blog if I call you "bleaders."
Julie's novel and movie are in fact based off of real experiences,

and the real deal blog can be found <here.>

Movie trailer can be found <here.>

This is the cover of the book I purchased.

This book cover would have made the book worth keeping in my library.

Yep. I judge (and keep) books by their covers.
PS. I have not yet seen the movie. I have no idea how they compare. ALSO I am not posting too many statements or conclusions on the book because at least ONE of my bleaders is in the process of finishing the book.
