One In Every Color- Hexy Trekkies

Hexies (hexagonal knit pieces knit in the round stuffed with fiberfill) have taken over.

At first I wasn't sold but now that I have knit socks and am not as afraid of tiny yarn AND now that I have tiny yarn scraps AND now that Tanya has let me arrange her one in every color hexies for fun, I am HOOKED! (or needled since this is knitting and not crochet! Bad joke...I know.)

The Beekeepers Quilt designed by Tiny Owl Knits (pictured below) seemed to set off the trend.

at first I resisted. But similarly to the situation with Pinterest. I appear to be giving in.

These Trekish hexies may have been what did me in. I've recently become veeeery interested in the show and have started "The Next Generation" series to begin my journey into the Treky world.

Data is my favorite. I'm starting to notice a pattern in my favorite characters. Data, Sheldon, Bones, Luna Lovegood...all are characters who have trouble comprehending social norms. And I love them.

One In Every Color Clothes

I saw this sweater from across the store at JoAnnes. It constituted checking out and then going back into the store so I could take a picture.



She thought I was weird but posed willingly. I was so excited about the sweater I forgot to ask for her name.
Also, when I was in LA visiting a couple weekends ago, I was watching the news with Aunt Audrie and saw this fantastic golf clothing line called Loudmouth.



Don't you think this skirt is perfect for me?! Like says he doesn't support the "movement" and that it's too loud and that they won't sell it. I even offered to play a few rounds of golf if he got them for me. No word yet.

One in Every Color-Golf Shirts

The golf course Luke is currently working at is hosting the Women's Open this year. Which of course means all the pros need a new shirt for each day!

The colors really are quite striking. Actually most golf clothes are vibrant and pretty which is why next year I plan on making an Easter egg to resemble each one of Luke's work shirts past and present next year.

One in Every Color-Bad Call

When Luke was a kid (10ish) his dad brought home some foam bricks from the hospital where he worked. They used them as "Bad Call Bricks" and would occasionally throw them at the TV when they thought a bad call had been made. Luke confesses to maybe throwing them at the TV for more than a bad call on mornings when he woke up early to watch sports or when he'd come in from the pool before the others to catch updates. (He's a sports loving kid. After reading "A Day In the Life Of..." he sympathized with little Henry, agreeing that one favorite sports team shirt is not enough. Luke said he wore the same jersey every day one Summer.) Anyway, Luke told the Bad Call Brick story with such fondness, when I came across a knitted ball pattern I thought "Bad Call Ball!"
Added bonus, yarn in every color.


All the colorways this yarn made (or the shop I bought it from carried 3 years ago.)


I thought they were very sporty colors.

It's hollow inside so it flattens out quite nicely. Trivet?

One In Every Color- Legos

It's so fun to know that I will forever have a place in each one of your hearts as the "One in Every Color Girl!"
The Isaac family went on a winter break adventure to Lego Land and brought me back this souvenir! Lego's in Every Color! I cant wait to expand my husbands childhood collection to include Pink and Lime Green!

A Machine

Today I attended a class at Quilter's Paradise, in Clovis, to teach me all about my recently acquired (from my mom) featherweight sewing machines! My cousin Tanya suggested that I go, and having recently had a scare thinking I would have to pay someone to repair my machine, I decided this $28 class would be WELL worth it. It was. My machine runs like a dream now! I can't wait to get to work on the other one I have in Colorado!  (Should you wish to explore Quilter's Paradise's website and class schedule click here)

 While at Quilter's Paradise I came across the most amazing fabric! (Seriously, you cant go in and not look!) Anyway, it's argyle!!!! AND one in every color! Look how well it goes with scraps from our wedding quilt!

See so it's the best of both worlds. It's a fun new fabric, but I'm also stash busting in a major way!

Another highlight of my day! I got to meet my good friend Chris's !FIANCE! Brittany! (Finally! A. I'd been wondering when he was going to pop the question and B. She's from a different city and we kept missing each other!) She's definately a kindred spirit! The coolest part: She's getting into quilting! She met me at the Quilter's Paradise after my class and that afternoon she came over to our apt and I was able to share some of my mom's beginning stuff with her! I also passed on one of Mom's project kits. I did have ulterior motives though. I'm trying to make sure she get's all the way adicted to this colorful hobby!

One In Every Color- Spooling

We've (Me and Val) found TONS of thread among mom's crafting supplies and projects. We narrowed it down to a smaller variety of colors to fit in this drawer to use for mending, and small projects. Cotton/Quilting thread is staying in the quilting tool box. I like to leave this drawer pulled out to look at the colors! I'm also glad I made sure to arrange them juuuust so.   :)

These are spools and threads that go back to my Grandmother Peggy's collection. (Maybe even further than that.) Yep! Those are all wooden spools! I can't bring myself to get rid of these treasures! Stacking toys/blocks for a little guy or girl? Ornaments? A fun display jar for my dream craft room? Fine motor skills practice threading them onto a shoelace? Teaching sizes? Small, Medium, Large....Big, Small, Smallest? Even EyeSpy? I spy with my little eye something that makes me thing of "How About Orange!"

One in Every Color- Dresses

When I say every color I mean EVERY color.  Cindy gave me a link to this blog. And I went....and I saw dresses in 143 different colors!

The blogger poses the question, "What about you? Would you wear the same dress every day, just in a different color?"

My answer, the answer, is YES. Yes I would. Because there's one in every color.

Except for maybe brown and split pea soup green. Those aren't my colors. I sort of pretend they aren't in the color wheel.

One In Every Color- Close Shave

Yep, the marketers have definitely heard about me.

Why else would they have just released a "color collection"? I confess, I  know these are over priced. And I'm pretty sure that large brightly colored plastic handle can't be all that great in a landfill. But the color! Look at the color! Before now, they had packs with shades of green,  a pack of blues, pinks and purples, reds and yellows. And now THIS!!! A color collection!?! It's beautiful!

One In Every Color- Hair Bands

Or as my Dad likes to call them "head ribbons." Have you seen the Ramona and Beezus movie? How the dad never gets the name right and the girls always correct him, and really we get the picture that the dad is just doing it to annoy the girls? I think its sort of like that. Anyway, I think the marketers have heard about me.

One In Every Color -Cuisin-Art

This one was a store display at Sur La Table. I didn't want to push my luck and ask to re-arrange ALL the display items as well as take pictures. But yum. It prepares food AND looks good!

One In Every Color-Driving Fan Base

Im truly loving these things that people keep sharing! Today I got a message from Tracy:
After church on Wednesday, Daniel and his friend were organizing cars according to color. I ran in and said, "I have to take a picture!" Marcy was standing there waiting to see why I was taking a picture. I said, "for Jessica and Cindy." She said, "That's who I thought of and I was waiting to see what you were taking it for."

 Thanks for sharing this fun photo and for thinking of me Tracy and Marcy! Goes to show that even young kids  can appreciate sorting things and color! Give em props!

One in Every Color-To Paris and Back

We were going to get some pedicures after our girls rodeo night. We stopped for coffee for Jenny and Emilie (apparently they cant live without the stuff) and I saw this shop called Weekend in Paris right next to the Starbucks on Willow and Herndon (in Fresno.) Through the window I could see all of the brightly colored products they carried and had to peek in! Check it out! One In Every Color!

One In Every Color-Buttoned Up!

So it seems I've now got you all clued in on my hunt for things that come in every color. I got this as a picture message from Dani <here> last week. What I especially like about this is how the colors are in order. It makes them look organized....now if only they had been on a cicular rack, and Dani had been standing on TOP of the rack to take the picture. Just kidding Dani! Thanks for the picture!

One in Every Color-Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher

While were on the dream sewing room lets head right over to the dream kitchen. These are the dream appliances. (Made by a company called Big Chill.) I think I'd like a fridge, dishwasher and oven/stove in red. I would like black granite or concrete countertops. I would like my counter tops to be about 3 inches lower than the average counter tops. This has been run by Luke with the understanding that we'll have a very tall shower, and tall bathroom counters. Deal. I would like lighter cabinets. Luke prefers wood and that's fine. I would like a giant kitchen sink two sections, and a tall faucet with a retractable sprayer with a control button option.

I would LOOOOOVE a large island topped with a butcher block. No sinks no fixtures just  an outlet on the side. This is where Ill be doing all my baking! (I'm banking on the idea that big chill will come up with a way to install a second oven with the same look just under the microwave.)

I'll also take one of these! Probably hanging over the island for convenience, and I intend to have something like this plate rack for maybe 10 or so of my Fiesta plates to be arranged in seasonal color combinations!

Sigh....a girl can dream right? :)
