Lintilla

This is the third pattern I've knit by Martina Behm and is ALSO based on "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Though, disclaimer, the character the scarf is named for is only on the radio show, not in the book. These patterns are seriously so fun!! I also love how much I learn about knitting when I'm working on them!

Saturday was really windy (who am I kidding, every day is really windy!) and I was really enjoying how the ruffles move in the wind! Pictures really don't do it justice.
I finished it just before coffee shop knitting which meant that I didn't have a project for knitting and talking on the needles! I took some of my leftover yarn and made a Hexi Puff!
Mary is making a Hitchiker scarf out of the same yarn and I can't wait to see it!
All the stats are posted on Ravelry, you can find my account through the button link on the sidebar.

Hexie Puff

Ah, so I'm completely crashing from the last three days of testing and possibly dreading it. I'm unwinding with a bit of Star Trek, The Next Generation, Season 1 Episode 23. Data was described as "like a child."

I think that's what I like about all my favorite characters. Data's cultural/human wonder. Sheldon and his need for consistency and regularity along with care when feeling sick and distressed. Bones and her dislike for abandonment and literal interpretation. Maybe that's why I like them.
Another thing I like:

No. LOVE! My first hexie puff!

I find the name fondly makes me think of a critter. Similarly to a Pygmy Puff.

One In Every Color- Hexy Trekkies

Hexies (hexagonal knit pieces knit in the round stuffed with fiberfill) have taken over.

At first I wasn't sold but now that I have knit socks and am not as afraid of tiny yarn AND now that I have tiny yarn scraps AND now that Tanya has let me arrange her one in every color hexies for fun, I am HOOKED! (or needled since this is knitting and not crochet! Bad joke...I know.)

The Beekeepers Quilt designed by Tiny Owl Knits (pictured below) seemed to set off the trend.

at first I resisted. But similarly to the situation with Pinterest. I appear to be giving in.

These Trekish hexies may have been what did me in. I've recently become veeeery interested in the show and have started "The Next Generation" series to begin my journey into the Treky world.

Data is my favorite. I'm starting to notice a pattern in my favorite characters. Data, Sheldon, Bones, Luna Lovegood...all are characters who have trouble comprehending social norms. And I love them.
