Neat Resources

Hey! So I know I'm not keeping up my blog very well, I might catch up someday. I've been busy with a new job, some car troubles, oh yah, did I mention classes? Speaking of classes I went to mine tonight, and wanted to share some links I was introduced to today!
The first I find entertaining:
Grammar Girl. She can be found at her website and iTunes/free podcast. Her website also suplies an episode transcript. Once you find out how fun she is you'll be interested to hear from her friends Make it Green Girl, Mighty Mommy, and Legal Lad.

For those of you with kiddies learning to read check out Starfall. Very free, and very fun and kid friendly. I even played a few rounds.

For those of you who know of kids who are learning to type, check out free Dance Mat Typing.

Flowers and Fun

Some of us girls went out to dinner Friday night at Dai Bai Dang. Yummy rice, Yummy tea, pot stickers, crispy beef, orange chicken and another meat. It was kind of a meat lovers meal. (L-R Me, Beth, Val, Des, and Kassy)
The next morning after starting to scrape paint off the fence it got too hot! My mom and I went to meet Cindy and Charlotte at Border's one of the big bookstores in town. Good company!
After coffee my mom and I went to the nursery to pick up some flowers to spruce up the yard, and make it cheery for a baby shower we're hosting next weekend.

That evening was another spent with friends. I went over to Destinie's boyfriends (Mikey) house for a barbecue! 3 cheers for hamburgers with avocado and blue cheese! Yum!

Beth, Destinie, and Destinie's Crabby mug for when she's "Crabby!"

They had a cool Pirates of the Caribbean dice game. Mostly it thought they were fun to stack!
Sunday morning Mark, Cindy, and my parents woke up super early and started working on the fence while it was cool! Big thanks to Mark and Cindy for their help! (I had reason to sleep in because I had stayed up late planting flowers!)
Here's my dad painting!
The hard workers took a break when I made blueberry pancakes! Thank you again Neola, the blueberries are yummy!
I left early to go to College Coffee at Starbucks, and on my way snapped a picture of the three amigos holding up the tarp to block paint spray. My dad is painting on the other side.

The finished product. Some of the flowers I put into pots.

The weekend ended off with a fantastic College group dinner at Randy and Jamie's! Jamie put together a baked potato meal with ingredients that came from within a hundred mile radius. How cool is that? Thank you for hosting us!

Bunnies, Blackberries, and Bikes

Sorry this entry has taken so long to put up, life just got busy for a bit!

On my way home from McCall, ID Luke and I made a halfway trip to his home in Phoenix, OR. We travelled by way of Christmas Valley, which made for an interesting drive. The moon was big, maybe full and there was a lightning storm off in the distance. The bunnies were crazy. There were out and busy and crossing the road everywhere. The first two or three I saw were really cute. Then one Superman jumped right in front of my car and pulled down what was left of my dust guard. The bunnies weren't so cute after that.

Anyway, I was especially excited because this trip would include my first blackberry picking outing!

This is where we went to pick the berries. The bushes were bordering one of Luke's sort of relatives' pear orchard.

If you've never picked blackberries before, you should know the bushes have thorns and the berries leave stains!

In the thick of it all!

Bringing home the berries!

Luke and his brother Mark both got bikes! They'll both be at the U of I this year!

While I was there I got exposed to the Wii Fit! Luke and his Dad, John, are very competitive in tyring to keep the highest scores.

I got hooked on Hula Hooping!

It was a fun trip and I'm still eating the rewards! Thanks also for the blueberries Neola! I made blueberry muffins the other day!
