John is Luke's dad. (Just in case you weren't sure. Fun Fact: When John went to the University of Idaho he spent some time living in the residence hall Galt. Galt and Upham were big time rivals. The funny part, Luke and Jessica were both living in Upham the year they met! (Granted they were newly remodeled buildings with the old residence hall names but still, kind of funny.)
